Grief is a human response to significant personal change or loss such as the death of a loved one, separation or divorce, injury or disability, or loss of a job. Each person reacts differently to loss. This doesn’t mean some people are stronger and some are weaker – only that each of us is an individual.

You will probably find yourself experiencing intense and perhaps strange feelings – this may be confusing – but these feelings are a normal part of the healing process of grief.

Our Grief and loss counselling offers the opportunity for individuals, to talk though issues and ideas and address feelings and experiences which may be causing difficulties. Counselling does not give advice but rather helps you to find new ways to think about things, to find new frameworks by which to consider things. It is a chance for you to talk through issues or experiences and for the counsellor to listen in helpful and non-judgmental ways. At the end of counselling you will be left with a sense of being better able to manage your personal circumstances and a greater sense of being able to influence the events in your own life.
