GCH is an accredited provider of courses and assessments for drink-drug driving. There is a charge for these courses.
Courses are applicable if you:
- Have lost your license due to a drink and/or drug driving offence
- Want to learn about the personal and legal impact of drinking and/or drug taking and driving.
The course aims to provide you with a better understanding of the effects of alcohol and/or drugs and how to develop strategies to reduce the risks associated with their use.
Participants will learn about the legalities of alcohol and/or drug driving and gain an understanding of the risks associated with alcohol and/or drug impaired driving.
Course facilitators are experienced in adult learning principles, where participants are treated with respect and positive reinforcement is used to encourage participation.
There are different courses for drug driving, drink driving and for a combined drink/drug drive offence.
Drink Driving Course: the course runs for 2 x 4 hour sessions, conducted one week apart.
Drug Driving Course: the course is run on one day, usually 10-4
Combined Drink-Drug Driving Course: the course is run on one day, usually 10-4
